The provincial government has made some changes to the entry requirements to the Galapagos archipelago. The new requirements, which take effect on September 1, 2021 for international travelers flying into the Galapagos, are listed below:
-Complete vaccination certificate, with the second dose given at least 14 days prior to entry to the Galapagos.
-In addition to a complete vaccination certificate, a negative RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours of embarking on a flight to the Galapagos.
If a traveler presents Covid-related symptoms upon arrival to the Galapagos, he/she will be denied entry to the Galapagos and will be returned to mainland Ecuador to follow the protocols established by Ecuador’s Public Health Authorities.
The Ministry of Public Health will review these requirements two weeks after they are implemented, and may choose to modify or update them.
For Ecuadorians traveling to the Galapagos, a complete vaccination certificate is not a prerequisite, but a negative RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours of embarking on a flight to the Galapagos is required.
